India Capitals, the GMR group-owned franchisee, are eyeing to secure back-to-back wins when they take on Gujarat Giants, in their fourth match of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) Season 2 on Thursday, which will be played here at Maulana Azad Stadium. The defending champions, India Capitals had beaten Southern Super Stars in their previous encounter for their first win of the tournament. India Capitals are currently placed fourth in the league standings with two points to their kitty.

Speaking ahead of the match, India Capitals’ captain Gautam Gambhir said, “I am incredibly proud of the team’s performance from the previous match. It is always important to win but we as a team are looking to have fun in all our games. We love the support that we are getting from our fans in & out of the stadium”.

India Capitals in their last game, comfortably chased down the target of 164 runs with 20 balls to spare, aided by a sensational century by former Caribbean batter, Ricardo Powell in just 57 balls with the help of ten massive sixes and four boundaries.

Ricardo Powell (126 runs in 3 matches) is the leading run-scorer of the tournament while Kirk Edwards (115 runs) and Kevin Pietersen (81 runs) have shone with the bat. Isuru Udana (6 wickets) and Rusty Theron (5 wickets) have been the pick of the bowlers for the Capitals so far. 

On the other hand, Gujarat Giants currently sitting in third position in the points table, having won two of their three matches. With big names on their side like Chris Gayle, Jacques Kallis, Parthiv Patel, and S Sreesanth, the Capitals will have their task cut out against the Giants.

The game between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants will be played on 30th November 2023 (Thursday) which will be telecast LIVE on the Star Sports Network from 06:30 pm IST onwards. The match can also be streamed LIVE on Disney+ Hotstar and FanCode.
