Biography

Kotarangada Appanna is a left arm orthodox bowler and a right handed batsman who represents Karnatka in domestic cricket. Appanna started representing his state at the Under-14 level and went on to play till the Under-22 side. After making appearances at the junior level, he started playing for the senior state side.

He impressed for Karnataka in the 2011-12 season picking up 28 wickets, becoming fourth joint highest wicket taker this season. With his good performances he struck a claim for a regular place in the side. He was also a part of the India Under-19 squad and following a string of good performances, Appanna was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008 for the inaugural IPL edition. But with the presence of stalwarts like Anil Kumble, he did not get a regular run of games. The Challengers re-signed him following an impressive season for the fifth edition of the IPL in 2012.
