Jaipur, September 16: UP Yoddhas saw their latest Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2025 fixture against the Bengal Warriorz conclude 37-41 in the latter’s favour at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur tonight.
The match went right down to the wire, testing both teams to the absolute hilt, in a high-octane affair that brought the spectators to the edge of their seats.
The Yoddhas started the game on the front foot, producing a dominant opening half performance where they led 18-13 at the break. This was largely led by their terrific defensive output, earning 10 tackle points vis-à-vis the six of the Warriorz. They also bagged two all-out points, in addition to five through raids, and an extra one to round off a captivating outing.
An interesting facet in the Yoddhas’ performance was the cohesive front that they put up, with multiple stars chiming in with instrumental contributions.
Gagan Gowda, who has been the standout performer so far this season, amassed seven points, but UP Yoddhas academy product Shivam Chaudhary shone through with an equal tally in his kitty too. The two attackers were dynamic in their play, overwhelming the Warriorz’s backline and regularly securing points that kept the Yoddhas in the game until the final whistle was blown.
Defenders Hitesh and Ashu Singh contributed four points each, whereas Guman Singh contributed five to the team’s cause.
Overall, the team will take heart from the fact that nearly all players appeared to be delivering when it mattered on the mat tonight. Games of fine margins could swing either way, but the UP Yoddhas have given a fine testament of their talent in all departments so far, and with such valiant spirit brimming through the squad, only positive results are anticipated from the team in the coming fixtures.
What’s next for both teams?
UP Yoddhas will feature in their next match against the Tamil Thalaivas on September 22, whereas Bengal Warriorz are poised to take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers on September 18.
