With every defeat, we Yoddha have become even stronger for our next challenge and this time, hoping for turn of fortune, we will be facing the Gujarat Fortune Giants in ProKabaddi on Sunday night at the Arena by Transstadia, Ahmedabad. The giants are in some scintillating form and this may be a tough match for us, but our boys will put their heart and soul to try and win it for their fans.

A quick look

The Gujarat-based team have so far notched up a terrific team effort to emerge as one of the most competitive sides in this year of VIVO ProKabaddi. They have performed as a team with each department backing up the other to flawless ends – something that we will have to draw inspiration from and apply in our games.

Their defenders

Captain Sunil Kumar takes charge in the right cover while Parvesh Bhainswal has been consistent as a left cover to keep the opponent raiders away from scoring points. Our raiders will have to stay cautious when these two are active. The onus will be on the trio – Rishank, Prashanth and Shrikant – to bounce back into good form soon and score points in bulk, starting from tomorrow’s fixture.

Their raiders

Sachin is the leading raider from the Fortunegiants side, who has been consistently scoring at a rate over 7 points per match and will be the man for Jeeva, Nitesh, Narender and our own Sachin to keep their eyes on. Also raiding for them will be all-rounder Rohit Gulia and young Ajay Kumar. However, with Nitesh in a red-hot form contesting for the top spot as the most successful defender of the season, our defense looks solid.

Story so far

Losing only two of their nine matches, the Fortunegiants are at the second position of Zone A points table while we are fourth in Zone B.

Head to Head
