The U.P. Yoddha recorded their fourth-consecutive win on Sunday as they defeated Puneri Paltan 43-39 in a nail-biting encounter.

The hosts began strongly as they managed to enforce an all-out within five minutes to gain a 11-4 lead. Raiders Rishank Devadiga, Monu Goyat and Surender Singh led the side to earn early, crucial points.

There was a super tackle effort from Paltan but Yoddha raiders were too good and managed to gain another all-out with the scoreline reading 29-14 at half time. It seemed like a cakewalk for the Yoddha but there was more to come.

The visitors tried to create a turnaround as Manjeet Singh registered a successful raid following some vigorous defence by Surjeet Singh and Co. Not only did they manage to inflict an all-out, but also reduced the deficit to just six points.

The competition became intense and U.P. Yoddha tried to maintain the lead until Nitin Tomar’s efficient raids helped Paltan draw level. It was a phenomenal comeback after being reduced to 29-14 at break.

However, Rishank’s crucial raid followed by successful tackles of Tomar and Manjeet sealed the deal for U.P. Yoddha as they won 43-39.

Captain Nitesh Kumar led with valour as he finished with six tackle points while Rishank was splendid with seven raid points.

Yoddha will play their next game against the Telugu Titans on Wednesday starting at 8:30 PM IST.
