Jaipur, September 12: UP Yoddhas are all set to square off against home side Jaipur Pink Panthers in their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 fixture at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, on September 13, at 8:00 PM IST.
The Yoddhas currently sit sixth in the standings with four points from four outings, having opened their campaign with successive wins. Jaipur, meanwhile, will be eager to begin their home leg on a strong note in front of a buzzing local crowd, with the weight of expectations firmly on their shoulders.
Despite recent setbacks, UP have shown promise on both ends of the mat. They remain solid in tackle success rate (35.78%) and raid success rate (39.15%). Captain Sumit Sangwan has been the backbone of their defence, registering the most High 5s (2) and the fourth-highest tackle points (15) in the tournament so far. In attack, Gagan Gowda has been in scintillating form, averaging 11.5 raid points per game, including three Super Raids and three Super 10s, making him their go-to man up front.
“Jaipur Pink Panthers are a team that thrives at home, and their fans create a charged atmosphere. But that also brings its own pressure. If we capitalise on our chances and stay disciplined, we can tilt the game in our favour,” UP Yoddhas assistant coach Upendra Malik said.
With the Jaipur leg set to unfold, the Yoddhas will view this contest as an opportunity to reset their campaign and rediscover winning momentum. A collective effort across the mat could help them overcome the home side and reignite their pursuit of a maiden PKL crown.
