UP Yoddha have a tough task at hand as they face Patna Pirates on Sunday at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula, Haryana. This is their third meeting in ProKabaddi 2018 and despite commendable performances in the first two meetings, we were barred from finishing as the winning side.

A Quick Look

Sitting towards the top of the table, Pirates are almost certain of qualifying for the playoffs. The onus will be on us to perform and keep our playoff hopes alive. However, with a couple of victories and a tie recently will boost our confidence to put our hundred per cent in the match.

Their Defenders

Pirates’ defense has not been at their best this season, as they are currently ninth in the table of most tackle points by any team. Vikas Kale and Ravinder Kumar take care of the right cover and right corner respectively and are among the strongest for the side. These two will be a threat to our left raiders Prashanth and Shrikant. However, there is inconsistency in the left of the defense, with Jaideep being the only constant scorer. This will make things easier for Rishank, our right raider and captain, to steal bonus points. Fans will pin their hopes on Prashanth, who has bounced back really well and had scored a Super 10 in the last match.

Their Raiders

The raiding contingent of the Pirates can be precisely expressed in two words – Pardeep Narwal. Currently placed second in the table of highest points by any raider this season, Narwal has 197 points so far. While players like Vikas Jaglan, Vijay and Jawahar have contributed from time to time, Narwal has been unstoppable and will be the person to keep in check for Nitesh, Narender and Jeeva.

Their young all-rounder Manjeet has also been impressive, and in reply, we have our very own Sachin Kumar.

Story So Far

Patna Pirates are at the second position and we are at the fifth position of the Zone B points table.

Head to head:
