Rovman Powell, Mustafizur Rahman, Marcus Stoinis and Noor Ahmad are locked in ahead of the auction, with USD 1.3 million still to spend.
Dubai Capitals head into the ILT20 Season 5 auction with a core already built. The franchise has fully used its USD 700,000 Pre-Auction Signings allocation on four international names, each expected to shape how the team plays in the season ahead.
Going into the Auction with USD 1.3 Million
With the pre-auction budget fully utilised, Dubai Capitals will enter the auction with USD 1.3 million in the purse. That leaves room to build depth around the core and fill specific gaps in the squad.
What the Capitals Still Need
The franchise has 14 slots to fill, broken down by category: 4 UAE Players, 7 players from Full Member nations, 1 from Associate Members, 1 from Kuwait and 1 from Saudi Arabia.
The four UAE slots and the seven Full Member slots are where most of the auction action will come for Dubai Capitals. Local talent is central to the ILT20 model, and the additional Associate, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia places reflect the league's push to widen the pool of players it draws from.
Dubai Capitals will have an option to use one Right to Match option (RTM) on a UAE player that either played for them in DP World Season 4 or in the recently concluded DP World ILT20 Development Tournament.
Building for Season 5
With the top end of the squad set, the auction is about depth, role players and the right mix. Dubai Capitals will be looking for players who complement the four signings and add cover across batting, pace, spin and finishing roles.
"We’ll try and be a side which can adapt quickly, which can have options to adapt to any situation and any conditions. That’s what we’ll try and do and target in the auction," said Hemang Badani, Head Coach of Dubai Capitals.
