Telugu Yoddhas, the GMR Group-owned team, registered a thumping 38-28 win over Rajasthan Warriors in Match 7 of Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. This was the second win for the Yoddhas in this campaign.
Rahul Mandal scored ten points for the Yoddhas and was ably supported by Sourabh Adavkar, who scored six points. In contrast, Arun Gunki, Milind Chavrekar, Aditya Ganpule, Prasad Radye and Dhruv scored four points each.
Telugu Yoddhas will play next against Gujarat Giants on December 29, 2023 (Friday). The game will be telecast LIVE and exclusively on the Sony Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE on the SonyLIV platform from 8:30 PM onwards.
Telugu Yoddhas started the match on the attacking side and earned some quick touch points, quickly sending the first batch of Rajasthan raiders out. The Yoddhas scored 18 attacking points in the first turn, conceding just one point in return. At the end of Turn 1, the Yoddhas lead 18-1.
Turn 2 saw the Yoddhas allowing the Rajasthan Warriors attackers to score very little. The Yoddhas defenders remained on the mat for long periods, securing two dream runs and, most importantly, only allowing the Warriors to score 12 points in the turn. After the end of the first innings, the score read 20-13 in favour of the Yoddhas.
The second innings started with the Yoddhas on the attack, and Turn 3 went as planned for them as they secured 18 touch points and conceded just one point to the Warriors. The Yoddhas took a sizeable lead of 24 points after Turn 3, with the scorecard reading 38-14.
The Rajasthan Warriors needed to perform a huge task to overcome the massive deficit of 24 points. The Yoddhas defenders played tactically and evaded the Warrior’s attackers for a good period. Even though they could not score a single point in the turn, they conceded only 14 points to the Warriors as the Yoddhas cruised to victory with the final score reading 38-28.
