Refreshed after a day’s break, Yoddha are ready to get onto the mat again. We face the Gujarat Fortunegiants as we aim to redeem ourselves after an unpleasant season opener. The team will be determined to live up to its true potential as we aim to leave Hyderabad on a winning note.
The Yoddha defence looked disoriented as they failed to deliver on multiple tackle attempts by the Bengal Warriors. Coach Jasveer Singh has made a commitment towards strengthening the Yoddha wall of defence. Having set a high benchmark on the defensive front in ProKabaddi Season 6, the boys will be raring to make amends while facing GFG.
The biggest question in the first game was why, star player, Rishank Devadiga was rested. However, much to the delight of our supporters, Coach Jasveer has confirmed that Rishank will be seen on the mat in the upcoming fixture. Indeed, a boost to our raiding unit, Rishank’s inclusion in the squad will definitely bring more stability to the Yoddha offence.
Our boys will know better than to take the GFG boys lightly. Knowing the positive start they got in their Season 7 opener against last edition’s champions - Bengaluru Bulls - our team will be wary of their opponents. Sunil Kumar was in splendid form in the opener, and getting the better of the Fortunegiants captain and defender will certainly be among the most chalked-out plans.
KEY BATTLE: Rishank Devadiga vs Sunil Kumar
ProKabaddi veteran Rishank Devadiga is known for his brute strength and ability to deliver when it matters the most. Matching up against Sunil Kumar, Rishank will target to grab raid points consistently to alleviate pressure off our Yoddha during the tussle. Sunil Kumar has been a formidable force on the right cover in the defence and a clash of these two players will surely make for a treat to watch.
