Dubai, December 06, 2025: Dubai Capitals suffered a four-wicket defeat against the Gulf Giants in their DP World ILT20 Season 4 clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday.

Batting first, the Capitals posted 160/6 in 20 overs, with contributions spread across the line-up. Sediqullah Atal (35 off 25) and David Willey (29 off 28) added 61 runs for the second wicket to steady the innings, before a strong late surge lifted the total.

The middle overs proved decisive as the Capitals briefly lost momentum, but Jordan Cox (31 off 17) and James Neesham (16* off 13) reignited the innings with a rapid stand. Skipper Dasun Shanaka (23* off 9) provided a powerful finish, smashing two sixes late to push the total beyond 160.

Defending the target, the Capitals struck early and kept applying pressure through the middle overs. Mustafizur Rahman and Shanaka picked up two wickets each, but a decisive partnership between Pathum Nissanka and James Vince swung the contest in the Giants’ favour, as they completed the chase with seven balls to spare.

Reflecting on the match, captain Dasun Shanaka said the side would look to improve strike rotation in the middle overs and build on the positives from the game.
