Marcus Stoinis, Rovman Powell, Noor Ahmad and Mustafizur Rahman locked in as the Capitals build their core ahead of the player auction on October 1st.

Dubai Capitals have opened their DP World ILT20 Season 5 campaign in style, confirming a four-man pre-auction group that blends power, pace and mystery spin. Marcus Stoinis, Rovman Powell, Noor Ahmad and Mustafizur Rahman will all wear the red and blue this season, giving the franchise a settled core to build around before the Season 5 auction.

The quartet walks in as the faces of the "House of Capitals" — headlining the club's signing announcement alongside the Season 5 auction build-up.

The Fab Four

Marcus Stoinis returns to the DP World ILT20 after a three-year absence, arriving in Dubai colours as one of world cricket's most dependable finishers and a genuine three-dimensional threat. The Australian all-rounder has stacked up 1,416 runs in 87 T20Is at an average of 30.78 and a strike rate above 146, and has chipped in with 53 wickets at 25.22 with his medium pace — the kind of all-round game that can win matches on his own.

Rovman Powell continues his association with the Capitals, staying on as one of the side's most explosive middle-order hitters. The West Indies stalwart has built a reputation across franchise leagues as a finisher who can change the complexion of an innings in a handful of overs, and his return keeps that firepower intact through the middle of the order.

Noor Ahmad joins the Capitals fold as a fresh mystery-spin option, bringing experience from stints with Sharjah Warriorz and Desert Vipers in the UAE. The young Afghan left-arm wrist-spinner has developed into one of the most sought-after bowlers in franchise cricket, and adds a genuine wicket-taking threat through the middle overs.

Mustafizur Rahman is retained as the attack's death-bowling specialist. The Bangladesh left-armer's cutters and change-of-pace variations have made him one of the format's most reliable finishers with the ball, and he continues into another Capitals campaign as a proven match-winner at the back end of an innings.

Building Toward the Auction

With four pre-auction signings locked in, Dubai Capitals head into the Season 5 player auction on October 1st with a clear identity already forming — power at the top through Stoinis, finishing muscle through Powell, and control at both ends of the bowling innings through Noor Ahmad and Mustafizur. It gives the management a strong platform to shape the rest of the squad when bidding opens.

Season 5 is set to bowl off in November, with the final in December, and the House of Capitals has never looked stronger heading into a new campaign.
